You return to smirking, glancing at the girl in the mirror with the wide eyes. Swiftly, you turn around, grab the hand holding the gun, and give her a hard stare through your shades.

… She may or may not have had the pretty face. Her jade eyes were suited quite well in those square frames, even if they appeared to be terrified at the moment, and the shape of her face complimented such things even further. You may or may not have stared at her for a good thirty seconds just to compliment her features, and pass it on as an act of intimidating her.

“I understand that you will not murder me,” you say quietly, maybe soothingly, “Therefore, I ask of you to hand me this pistol before I call the guards and have the war become more of a bloodbath than it already is.” You loosen your grip on her wrist.

“You know neither of us wants any of that.”

You startle when she turns so swiftly, jerking your hand away—

But not in enough time to save your pistol and wrist. You meet her eyes as evenly as you dare, unable to tell the colour behind her dark shades. She’s got a pretty face, but now’s not much of a time to admire these things. Maybe later. Your grip on your firearm slackens, if only a little, and you glance down between it and her. Swallowing back the lump in your throat, you remain statue-still.

“I can‘t murder you,” You murmur, your accent coming through thick and strong despite your best intentions. “Despite the bloody goddamn order, I can’t.” Her grip on your arm loosens, and so does yours on your pistol, effectively dropping it. You don’t take your eyes off it, however. 

“Pointless, that’s what all this is. Pointless with a side of malarkey.”

Why are you telling her this? She’s not even your superior, dumbass.
